Beef heart is a lean organ meat that is very high in iron, riboflavin, selenium and vitamin B12.  It is also high in niacin, phosphorus and zinc.

Heart is delicious in stews, and can also be served on its own, fried with onions and vegetables, or stuffed and baked.

Beef hearts make an excellent pet food, not only for dogs and cats but also for many fish as it gives them good coloration and quick growth.  It is important to only feed your pets on all-natural, healthy beef hearts that are free of antibiotics and synthetic hormones -- especially when you are giving them a raw diet.
